Passage: Luke 15:11-32

Reflection Questions:
1. What was the father doing when the son was walking toward home (v. 20)? What was the father’s emotion?
2. What went on in the home after the return of the younger son (vv. 22-23, 25)?
3. The older brother believes that performance (hard work and obedience) should be rewarded and celebrated, but what does the father see as important and worth to be celebrated? What does the father want the older brother to understand?

Reflection Questions:
1. What does the description of the woman’s action tell about her determination of finding the lost coin?
2. “Rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God” is an indirect way of saying God is rejoicing. How does it make you feel that God would be rejoicing over one sinner who repents like the woman who found her lost coin?

1. From the interaction of the evil spirits and Jesus, what can you learn about the extend of Jesus’ authority? How does it make you feel to see that evil spirits were begging Jesus and needed to ask for permission to go into the pigs?
2. What was Jesus’ command to the man? What did the man do? What does this teach about the nature of our testimonies?

1. When giving the message of the gospel, what were Peter and John’s main points (vv. 10 and 12)?
2. What are the editorial comments in verses 8 and 13 trying to point out? The mention of Peter and John being filled with the Spirit, and the leaders took note that they had been with Jesus is another way of saying what?

1. Verse 1-2 and 9-11 are talking about the same guidelines, but in different perspective. What is the general message of these two sections (peaceable and considerate vs. arguments and quarrels)?
2. What was Paul’s reasoning to urge everyone to be peaceable and considerate (vv.3-7)? How does Paul’s reasons motivate us to do what is good always?
